We are strong believers that age is just a number. What’s important to us is that you come with the right intention: to focus on surfing & have a good time. The minimum age is 18 years old, but sometimes we accept younger travellers if an adult accompanies them.
Yes! Many guests are total beginners. Our instructors are super friendly, experienced, and there to help you stand up (and have fun while trying).
Basic swimming skills are important. You’ll be in the ocean, so being comfortable in the water helps you stay safe and have more fun while surfing. If you’re unsure, let us know, we’re happy to chat and guide you!
Totally. We offer surf guiding or intermediate/advanced coaching depending on the location. If you love riding waves with a fun crew, you’ll fit right in.
Yes! We provide gear unless stated otherwise. If you have a favorite board, you’re welcome to bring it.
Many come solo. We also see couples, siblings, and friend groups, but a big portion of guests book on their own. That's intentional — SEA ME SMILE is designed for all people who want to travel without waiting for someone else's schedule to align and those looking forward to meeting new people. Solo travellers set the tone, and it's a good one.
Yes. About a month before departure, we create a private WhatsApp group for your surf trip. Guests introduce themselves, share flight times, and coordinate arrivals. Some people plan to meet at the airport. By the time you land, you'll already have names and faces to look for.
Budget for: flights, travel insurance, alcohol beverages, spa services, optional add-on excursions, and personal spending (souvenirs, extra meals out). Tipping is appreciated but not required. Most guests spend €150-300 on extras, but that's totally at your own discretion and control.
Many guests do. If you find a better flight or just want to squeeze more out of the trip. We can recommend accommodations for buffer days.
Strongly recommended. Travel insurance covers medical emergencies abroad, trip cancellation, lost baggage, and adventure activities like surfing. Since our payments are non-refundable, insurance gives you protection if something unexpected happens.
To secure your spot, the initial deposit is 50%. Full balance is due 30 days before departure. We can always work with you if alternative timelines are needed!
All payments are non-refundable. We commit to accommodations, coaches, and local partners well in advance, so we can't pull those funds back. In rare cases, the 50% deposit may be transferred to another trip within 12 months — subject to availability and our discretion.
